Sometimes beginning a new career can be difficult. In order to succeed in a new job, graduates have to find housing, transportation to and from work, and child care if they have a family.
For a year after graduation, a Job Corps career counselor will stay in touch with each Job Corps graduate regularly to make sure things are going well. If there is a specific problem on the job, or if help is needed to find housing or transportation, a Job Corps graduate can call a Job Corps staff member to stay on track for success.
It is important that each Job Corps graduate stay in touch with his or her counselor. By staying in touch with Job Corps after entering the workforce, the Job Corps graduate can ease the transition into his or her new career.
